A Shrine
A quarter long semester project that I had produced during my 3rd year while I studied at the School of Visual Arts with Nic Taylor.
The project, a Shrine dedicated to famous individuals. Create a Book of Life, a biographical journey of their life.
I ended up picking Audrey Hepburn, never knowing anything about her except the ever-iconic, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Originally, I wanted to use this project as an excuse to learn more about her but I ended up wanting to create a tribute for her and her life.
The cover was my favorite part about this project. I used an image of a quartz crystal. A beautiful transparent mineral but also rough and course. I used this mineral because I felt it best reflected Hepburn and her life, beautiful, pure, perseverance and patience but also imperfect as her life was full of obstacles and imperfections.
